Holy crap!

my face hurts from smiling this big...they had the place on stage and hoppin'....when they kicked into 'Mirrow in the bathroom' I turned 19 years old...just moved out for the first time...my SR500 yamaha thumper motorcycle was parked over winter in my room, gasoline smell...mattress on the floor, grandmas cafe red velvet curtains over my bed, germany, dirtpoor living in the hanseatic mansion and my upstairs neighbour played that song over and over and over until I went up to ask him who th F that bassline thumping through my ceiling was...if someone would have told me I would be playing. Bass in. Zeppelin Band with these guys one fine day after immigrating to another country...I would have flipped...little did I know then...ahhhh life...

The English Beat...

...ok I get it now...back when I was a lill punk girl I hated ska because the german Neo Nazis highjacked that music...now I am sitting on a rock sidestage bobbing my head to their very tight groove and vocal harmonies...nice... Love the peanut on the keyboard, he got moves...and red sox. *n

Tahot...after lunch slumporama...

It is so pretty here and smells so good and we're going to play next to the rive in a park...but it is rather hot and on 2 hours of sleep this San Franny is not used to functioning properly...were is my fog...besides the one in my head...

Tikki bars in Alameda and Upright gigs...

...not quite sure what exactly happened, but I have strange cococtions in my stomach and Elvis in a Flower shirt is on screen...first time playing the Upright bass and I so very very much loved it...noise and low notes to Herrn Grim's guitar looping over 5 video screens simultaneously thrown on a warehouse wall...all while the boy in the bubble played out his strange life on film...as much as I love JPJ (and I am wearing his symbol on my jacket now, Thanks to Dion's great iron-on-patch gift), just making sounds and bowing and improvising without structure is utterly joyful... (and really almost anything sounds fun through a distortion pedal)

Thursday

These days...

are the reason I don't mind so much paying the rents we have to pay to walk outside to see the fog roll in from the ocean and know it will be yet another perfectly temperatured day to bike around town.

Sunday

Under the pink paper rose moon...

I shall dream from now on, Clem got me one from last nights awesome bubble ceiling decor from a wedding the day before...that's my drummer, always got my back (and upper surroundings) *n

Ahhh Portland, city of late night doughnuts...the loadout is not as frightening as crackalley Denver, but the bars are letting out all around and drunkhalf dressed girls stumble into the gear, obstacle course of bare legs...sweaty sweaty show with the baddest hair night in a long time, it glues to my face and I'm blind and guessing where to land on the frets, thankfully it all works out with much help from my dearest 'Rellas...at the hotel, missing the party, but I am done for the evening...PBS for the rescue, nothing on but weightloss,  pimplecreams and such things you very much need...I'll fall asleep watching the eruptions of Krakatoa...
11 hour drive coming up...

Saturday

Wow, this hotel has a waterfall in the atrium lobby that smells like a pool, oh wait it is the pool.

Seattle we love you!

What can I say, so so much fun. Incredible audience, they sang from the first song and screamed and yelled and made me go total Ponie Party...ahhhhhh...nights like this make breathing such joy...(well and those others spend in good company too)...Clem and I replentished our salt with a hotel vending machine chips binge at 4am...yum

Heaven at the river...

Yes, shirtless men ready to unload gear...that get's the day started quite alright after a sleepy drive...and the place...oh my...they call that a room? I'd call that a lucky find of a house in SF...more a logmansion, really...the food? Fireroasted mushrooms...yum...Duke said in on Sax and blew the roof of his home (oh yeah, he ran sound, cooked for us and brought my Makers, sigh)...they start them early, his son Miles played for us...what a show! Dancing of all sorts and a Beagle suddenly looked up at me from right in front of my feet, wow dog on stage, that's a first. The party was still going downstairs, but I snuck up to the gigantor Jacuzzi...oh I am one happy camper. *n

Thursday

Mornin'sunshine...

Woke up to pouring rain in the mountains, that's when you know you are back out again...I don't think I'll ever get tires of this...Eroll Jim is driving, Zepparella's all asleep...I'm going back under my coat...day dreaming.

Sunday

Ahhh, and we're back...

Driving home from a delightful show at the lill'Fox, Dean brought his great wine and goblets, the blue lights are twinkling and I am rather happy and content. They made me laugh hard looking at me with that grin in custard..."fool around all night long" sigh, yep, life is good...and Jim is just telling me that airplanes are so cheap right now that him and Gret could fly us around the country...my smile is cracking my lips it's so big...(Jim is noticing that the Goblets do not fit in the cupholders...aww shucks) we will work hard next year and I am so ready... *n
